Higgins tears his ACL, done for the year
Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins tore his ACL in an August 18 joint practice against the Raiders and is out for the entire 2026 season, per ESPN and NFL.com. He was set to start opposite Nico Collins after a strong rookie year. Houston's beat writers now point to Jaylin Noel and Xavier Hutchinson as the two who move up the depth chart. Collins holds his price as the clear Houston WR1. Noel is the more interesting add, worth a few extra dollars as a real target in this passing game. Treat Hutchinson as a cheap depth flier, not a starter, until camp reps prove otherwise.
Tucker looks like the clear Raiders WR1
Raiders wide receiver Tre Tucker played 9 of his team's 10 first-team offensive snaps in the preseason opener against Arizona, more than any other receiver in new coach Klint Kubiak's offense. Jalen Nailor is the other starter, but Tucker got the lead role and the early targets on Las Vegas' opening drive. His current price still reads like a committee piece, not a lead receiver. Buy him now while the market has not caught up, but keep the bid modest since Kirk Cousins and rookie Fernando Mendoza are still settling in at quarterback.
Etienne is stealing passing-down work in Carolina
Panthers rookie Jonathon Brooks is still the clear lead back, playing almost every snap with the starters through two preseason games, but Trevor Etienne is carving out a real role as a receiving-down back behind him. In week two, the two backs split third-and-medium snaps rather than Etienne simply spelling Brooks, a sign Carolina trusts him catching the ball out of the backfield. Keep Brooks priced as the workhorse. Etienne is now worth a couple of dollars as a real handcuff and PPR flex dart, not a free roster afterthought.
All is set to replace Fant in Cincinnati
Bengals tight end Erick All, who missed all of last season recovering from a torn ACL, is on track to take over the early-down tight end role that Noah Fant left behind when he departed in free agency. Reports have All expected to be ready for Week 1 even though Cincinnati has held him out of preseason games as a precaution. If he stays healthy, All is a real sleeper at a thin position. Price him as a late add for now, and only move him up once he actually takes preseason snaps.
Warren's groin injury is not a Week 1 worry
Colts tight end Tyler Warren left an August 19 joint practice against the Falcons with a groin injury, but multiple reports have him missing only about a week with no threat to his Week 1 status. Warren caught 76 passes for 817 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie last year and remains one of the top prices at the position. If this news knocks a dollar or two off his price at your table, treat it as a buying opportunity rather than a reason to fade him.
