Steelers bury Kaleb Johnson

Pittsburgh signed Rico Dowdle to a two year, $12.25 million deal, and it lands squarely on Kaleb Johnson. The 2025 third round pick managed just 28 carries for 69 yards as a rookie and now sits third on the depth chart behind Jaylen Warren and Dowdle. His draft price has already slid more than two rounds. Do not spend real auction money on Johnson until camp reporting gives him a path to touches.

Dowdle is the value in that backfield

Rico Dowdle arrives in Pittsburgh with back to back 1,000 yard seasons and a reunion with Mike McCarthy, his former head coach in Dallas. His draft cost still sits around RB32, which prices him as a bench piece even though he profiles as the early down half of a two man committee with Jaylen Warren. Nominate him mid draft and pay a modest RB3 price before camp buzz raises it.

Leave Zach Charbonnet on the shelf

Zach Charbonnet tore his ACL in Seattle's January playoff win and had surgery on February 20. The team says he is progressing well, but the standard nine to twelve month timeline points to a PUP start and a return around December at best. In redraft auctions, spend nothing beyond a deep league stash dollar, and treat any midseason return as a bonus rather than a plan.

Tank Dell is a one dollar dart

Tank Dell says he is ready for Texans training camp after the 2024 knee dislocation and multi ligament reconstruction that cost him all of 2025. Houston is deliberately not rushing him, and he was limited during spring work. The talent is worth a flier, but the workload is unproven. Treat Dell as a final dollar upside stash at the end of your auction, not a starter bid.

Pay up for a healthy Garrett Wilson

Garrett Wilson has been a full participant in the Jets offseason program after the knee injuries that disrupted his 2025 season, and he is on track for Week 1. Target share has never been his problem; availability was. If his auction price still carries an injury discount from last year, pay up now, because camp reports of a healthy Wilson will erase that discount fast.
