Jeanty's ankle sprain diagnosis brings relief, but Week 1 is not a lock
Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty was helped off the practice field unable to put weight on his right leg, and the diagnosis is in: a sprained ankle, not the more serious knee injury the team feared, per ESPN, NFL.com, CBS Sports and Yahoo Sports. The sprain is believed to be more low ankle than high ankle, which points to a shorter recovery, but Las Vegas has not set a firm return date and there is still a real chance Jeanty is not ready for the opener. Keep your bid close to where it was before the injury. A low ankle sprain with no surgery does not deserve a big discount, but hold off on paying a premium until he is back at practice.
Jacobs is dealing with a groin injury and a suspension threat at the same time
Packers running back Josh Jacobs is back at practice after missing time with a groin injury, and Green Bay is also preparing for the chance that he gets suspended under the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy over misdemeanor charges tied to a May arrest, per NBC Sports and Yahoo Sports. Backup MarShawn Lloyd said this week that he is ready to step in if Jacobs is out, and Lloyd has already run well in camp and joint practices, per Forbes. Do not let this scare you off Jacobs entirely, since a healthy, available Jacobs is still a lead back in a good offense. Set aside a few extra dollars for Lloyd as real insurance rather than a pure lottery ticket.
Nacua's groin scare looks like nothing to worry about
Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua left practice earlier this month with groin and psoas soreness, and the latest word from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is that the team is simply being cautious with him more than three weeks before the opener, per multiple outlets including CBS Sports. Nacua has since returned to full practice on separate occasions, and nothing here points to him missing Week 1. Draft Nacua as the true WR1 in Los Angeles you already had him priced as. This is a minor camp story, not a reason to knock a dollar off his price.
Tyson's hamstring injury opens the door for Olave in New Orleans
Saints rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, the team's presumed No. 2 receiver, suffered a hamstring injury in a joint practice and is expected to miss roughly two months, which puts him on track to open the season on injured reserve, per ESPN, NFL.com, Yahoo Sports and CBS Sports. That leaves Chris Olave as the unquestioned top target in New Orleans for at least the first month of the season, with Devaughn Vele in line for a bigger share of the snaps behind him. Bump Olave's price up as a true WR1 workload play to start the year, and treat Tyson as a late-round stash rather than a Week 1 option.
