Robinson's trade to San Francisco clears the numbers game in Washington

The Commanders traded running back Brian Robinson Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2026 sixth-round pick, per ESPN, NFL.com and CBS Sports. Washington had been shopping Robinson for weeks because of how deep its backfield already was behind Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Rachaad White. In San Francisco, Robinson joins a backfield that has been hit hard by injuries this camp, per the 49ers' own team site. Nothing changes for Croskey-Merritt and White as Washington's top two backs, so keep pricing them the same. Robinson is worth only a cheap, late dollar in San Francisco as depth insurance.

Dolphins send Atwell back to the Rams for a change-of-pace back

The Dolphins traded receiver Tutu Atwell to the Rams for running back Jarquez Hunter, per ESPN and both teams' sites. Atwell returns to the team that drafted him in 2021, where he joins a crowded receiver room behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Hunter, a 2025 fourth-round pick who has appeared in five career games, joins Miami as a backup piece behind De'Von Achane, who carried 71 percent of the Dolphins' offensive snaps last season. Achane's workload is not in danger, so this is not a reason to pay up for him or worry about his price. Hunter is only worth a bid if you already own Achane and want cheap insurance, and Atwell is not worth a roster spot behind Nacua and Adams.

Browns release Tillman, and two rookies win the outside jobs next to Jeudy

The Browns released wide receiver Cedric Tillman as part of their roster cuts, per ESPN and 4for4. First-round rookie KC Concepcion and second-round rookie Denzel Boston have taken over the outside receiver spots next to Jerry Jeudy, pushing Tillman off the roster entirely. Bump Concepcion up your board as the rookie most likely to see early snaps in this offense. Boston is worth a small late-round dollar for upside, but do not pay starter money for either rookie yet.

Pitts' snap share dipped behind Atlanta's starters, a signal worth watching

Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts played only 9 of his team's 14 preseason snaps with Atlanta's starters, down from the 87.7 percent snap share he carried all of last season, per PFF. New coach Kevin Stefanski added tight end Austin Hooper this offseason, and the Falcons look ready to use more two-tight-end sets that could cut into Pitts' snaps. Atlanta still lacks a proven second receiver, so Pitts should still see plenty of targets when he is on the field. Keep him in your TE1 range, but do not pay a premium price banking on last year's full-time role repeating exactly.
